January 8th Class 1 ‘Winter colour in a small jug” (jug itself to be no higher than 4”) From own garden
Class 2 A container of indoor bulbs
Class 3 A dish of any leaf vegetable (leeks, garlic and onions will be classed as leaf) One kind only
Class 4 A dish of any root vegetable (paper plate provided)
February 5th Class 1 Vase of snowdrops Exhibitor to use own vase
Class 2 A vase of any Spring flowers
Class 3 Three leeks Leeks washed & untrimmed
Class 4 A dish of any other vegetable, excluding class 3 (paper plate provided)
March 4th Class 1 Five stems of garden flowers, one or more kind Must NOT be from shrubs
Class 2 One stem of flowering shrub or tree
Class 3 Four sprouted seed potatoes
Class 4 A dish of any vegetable, excluding class 3 One kind only
CHAIRMAN’S CHALLENGE: A JAR OF ANY HOMEMADE MARMALADE
April 1st Class 1 A Spring posy – tied With leaves
Class 2 Three stems of Daffodils or Narcissus all one kind One kind only
Class 3 A dish of any vegetable
Class 4 A bunch of fresh herbs, three or more kinds
May 6th Class 1 Five stems of flowering bulbs, one or more kind
Class 2 Three stems of flowering shrub or tree, one or more kind
Class 3 Three stalks of rhubarb Forced or natural. Leaf trimmed to 3”
Class 4 A dish of salad vegetables
May 16th ANNUAL PLANT SALE
June 3rd (TBC) COACH OUTING TO WEST DEAN AND WEALD AND DOWNLAND MUSEUM, WEST SUSSEX
July 1st BI-ANNUAL MINI SHOW AT OLD SCHOOL HALL (SEE SEPARATE SCHEDULE)
August 5th Summer Social at Ringlehurst, Rye Road, TN18 5JQ (from 6:30 p.m.)
by kind invitation of Jill Oliphant-Robertson plus neighbouring gardens

September 2nd Class 1 Three stems of flowering shrub One kind only
Class 2 Five stems of garden flowers, one or more kind (Society vase)
Class 3 Five tomatoes With calyx
Class 4 A dish of Autumn fruits
October 7th Class 1 Three stems of berries from a tree or shrub
Class 2 Autumn Colour Arrangement – in a container of your choice
Class 3 Five stems of Swiss chard/spinach
Class 4 A dish of three different vegetables of your choice (2 of each one – 6 in total)
November 4th Class 1 One pot plant in bloom (owned at least 6 months)
Class 2 A vase of foliage
Class 3 Three onions Tops fold and tied Foliage trimmed to 3”. Root untrimmed
Class 4 Three root vegetables (one or more kind)

December 2nd Annual General Meeting & Presentation of Competition Trophies & Social
NOTES: All floral exhibits should be displayed in our Society vases except where specifically stated e.g. snowdrops
Please note that for all competitions clematis is classified as a shrub
* Flower arrangement should contain natural plant material with or without accessories
** Can be (a) jam or jelly or (b) chutney or pickles. One entry in each allowed
